Not much to say on this one other than chewing gum and mints are my go-to if I feel anxious, stressed or sick in anyway. I actually used to feel panicky if I didn’t have chewing gum on me. Many a time J has made an emergency dash to a garage in the night to pick up gum or mints. Ridiculous I know.

It did get a bit out of hand in 2009 or so when I was going through a bad patch and I would chew around 50 pieces a day. I developed a bad jaw ache and had to go see the dentist. He nearly fell off his chair when i told him how many pieces of gum i got through each day.

Another unwanted side effect of eating too much gum was that it acted as a laxative! Not what you need when you already suffer IBS!
